As we begin our final summer term at Ribble Drive, we can hardly believe how quickly this wonderful year has gone. What an incredible journey it has been! We feel so lucky to have shared this very special first year of school with such a fantastic group of children and families.

The children have grown in so many ways since they started — in their confidence, independence, friendships and learning — and we are so incredibly proud of each and every one of them. It has been a joy to watch them flourish, and we already know how much we are going to miss them as they move on to their next adventure.

This term, we will continue our exciting topic Our Wonderful World. The children will be exploring the world around them, learning about different environments, cultures and how we can care for our planet. We will be encouraging curiosity, discussion and a sense of wonder as they deepen their understanding of the world they live in.

We are also looking forward to some very special events this term. Sports Day will be a highlight, giving the children the chance to take part in fun activities and show their growing confidence and teamwork skills. We will also be preparing for our Transition Morning, which will help the children feel ready and excited for the next step in their school journey.

In Maths, we will continue to build on the children’s knowledge through practical and engaging activities, developing their confidence in number, shape and problem solving.

The children will, of course, continue to enjoy their Music sessions with Mrs Higson and PE sessions with Coach Jess, which they always look forward to.
