Year 3

Welcome to the Year 3 class page. This is where you will find all of the information about our learning this term!

In English, we will be working on narratives and letters about a book called the Wilderness, written by Steve McCarthy. This is a fantastic wild and wondrous story of true bravery and discovering friendship in the most unexpected of places. Will Oktober join his family on the trek?

In Maths, we are learning about length and measure and eventually we will be moving on to fractions. In art, we are focussing our work on Pop Art and we will be looking at the work of Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.

This term will be continuing our Geography topic of cities and the urban environment. We will also be continuing to investigate plants in Science and the requirements they need to grow. We look forward to another visit to the allotment to learn more about plans, pollination and growth.

In PE, Coach Jess will be covering tennis and will also be participating in circuit training. In computing we will create our own book trailers and in RE we will be thinking about what how and why religious and non-religious people try to make the world a better place.

The children will also continue their learning in Spanish this term with a journey through Latin America and in PSHE we will be looking at Citizenship and the rights and responsibilities of the child.
