Year 6

Hello and welcome to the Year 6 class page! This is where you will find all the information you need to know about what we will be doing in Year 6 this half term. 

 

With the end of the year and Year 6’s time at Ribble Drive quickly approaching, we will be focussing our discussions on transition to high school. The children will be working hard with Mrs Higson on our end of year production and Band Beatz will be in every Thursday to work on an end of year performance. 

 

Inside the classroom, we will be continuing to work hard and we will be producing Trip Advisor reviews for the famous Hotel Sol Pelicanos in Benidorm. In addition to this, we will be writing a short narrative with dialogue.

 

In maths, we will be continue to work on our basic skills, ensuring we remain sharp with the four operations and problem solving. In Science, we will be focussing all our learning on electricity and we will be creating our own circuits with lights and switches.

 

In PE, coach Jess will be in school to teach us athletics. With Sports Day around the corner, will we find the next Usian Bolt or Keely Hodgkinson amongst our Year 6 pupils? In Design and Technology, we will be continuing to finish off designing and creating our playgrounds and Mr Abbas will be completing our Spanish and RE curriculum.

 

As always, in Music, the amazing Mrs Higson and Mr Martin will be in school to sing with us every Friday.
