Be the best you can be

Reception

Wow, time flies when you’re learning and having fun. Can you believe we are half way through our time together in Reception!

This half term, our main topic is People Who Help Us using the book ‘You Must Bring a Hat’ where we focus upon the different people who helps us, their jobs and the hats they wear and why. Based upon this will be looking at the police, firefighters, doctors, bin men, builders, farmers, vets and any other jobs the children choose.  We focus upon similarities and differences, how they help us and the importance of each job. We will be writing lists, focussing upon CVC words and using our phonics knowledge and red words to create our own sentences, having fun and continuing our learning journey.

In Maths our focus is upon numbers to 10, 3D shapes, length, height and time.

We will also continue to take part in our wonderful music lessons with Mrs Higson and focus on our gross motor skills, turn taking and simple movements with our PE coach Tom.

We have our very first trip this half term to the farm. We are all very excited for this. We will learn all about being a farmer linked to our topic and about growing linked to next half terms topic.

Please keep visiting Class Dojo and this page to see lots of photographs of our amazing learning!
