Reception
Welcome to the Reception page.
What a fabulous first half term we had welcoming all of you and your families into our school and finding out what makes you who you are.
This half term Reception’s main topic is Sparkle and Shine using the book Little Glow where we focus upon the journey of the little candle around the village in which he lives as they celebrate light throughout the year. Based upon this will be looking at Halloween, Bonfire Night, Remembrance, Diwali, Hanukah, birthdays and Christmas. We focus upon similarities and differences and the importance of each celebration. We will be writing lists, focus upon CVC words and creating our own celebrations, having fun and continuing our learning journey.
In Maths our focus is upon numbers to 5, patterns and matching/pairs.
We will also continue to take part in our wonderful Music lessons with Mrs Higson and focus on our gross motor skills, turn taking and simple movements with our PE coach Miss Jasmine.
